Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu hosted its first Amazing Thai Food Fiesta with Guest Chef Mama Duu, the Head of Thai Kitchen at JW Marriott Khao Lak Resorts & Spa in Phuket Thailand.  The 3-week gastronomic affair offers the best authentic flavors of Thailand at the all day dining venue - Latest Recipe, Lobby Level.

In partnership with AirAsia, Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu have specially invited Chef Mama Duu of JW Marriott Khao Lak, Phuket Thailand to showcase the authentic Thai flavors from the vibrant Thailand through her exquisite culinary skills and gastronomic creations.

Jasvir San-Ghera or fondly known as Mama Duu is a seasoned Thai cuisine expert with 31 years of experience in international hotels including Shangri-la Hotel Bangkok, Intercontinental Hotel Singapore, Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok, Plaza Athenee Bangkok A Royal Meridien, Novotel Bangkok and Bangkok Marriott, as well as JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa where she currently heads the Thai Kitchen.

Chef Mama Duu is also no stranger to cooking shows - she was the guest chef at the Luxury Escapes programme, Australian TV Channel 10, Khun Toi Kitchen on Thai TV3 channel, Chef Nic TV show, The Six O'Clock Show and Amarin TV.  She was also one of the judges for Iron Chef Thailand.

The 3-week gastronomic affair features the following:-

• Ala carte - Monday to Wednesday from 12pm to 10pm.
• Thai Dinner Buffet - Thursday to Sunday (except on 10th and 17th August) from 6:30pm to 10pm at RM148nett (normal price) and RM128nett (prepaid voucher).
• One Night in Bangkok (a delicious Thai Street Food experience) at RM108nett (normal price) and RM90nett (early bird) on 10th and 17th August froom 6:30pm to 10pm.
• Learn to cook like a Thai with Chef Mama Duu in her Masterclass at RM118nett (normal price) and RM90nett (early bird) on 14th and 21st August from 11am to 3pm inclusive of lunch.  

Children under 4 years of age eats for free, while children aged from 5 to 12 years enjoys 50% off.

General Manager of Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu, Kanit Sangmookda officiated the event with Chef Mama Duu in a private Masterclass and food review at the hotel last Monday, 5th August 2019.  "As the first Thai General Manager in Kota Kinabalu, I am pleased to share the food of my hometown.  We already knew Thai food is popular among the locals especially when our Thai Journey food stall was named as the favorite during the recent Semarakkan Ramadan Buffet.  We are honoured to have Chef Mama Duu to join this food fiesta", he said.  Kanit and Chef Mama Duu have previously worked together to promote Thai Cuisine in Le Meridien Jakarta.  "We hope everyone will enjoy the menu Chef Mama Duu have curated for this event", he added.
