The Movement Control Order (MCO) has put a restriction on Malaysians in order to curb the spreading of COVID-19. Sabahans are finding it harder to shop for essential items during this period, given the limited access.
Shopee is extending its support to Sabahans via S-Mart Sabah, a Sabah-dedicated online store on the platform, providing them with greater convenience so they can shop for their daily needs from home. The e-commerce platform is working closely with brands like Nestle, Oral-B, Harpic, Follow Me and Genki to manage supplies and bring in more products like instant noodles, milk, cereal, toothpaste, shampoo and diapers so shoppers will have access to them throughout this period.
Additionally, through S-Mart Sabah, Shopee hopes to ease the financial burden of shoppers with discounts and deals, of which shoppers will get to enjoy savings up to 40% daily. There are also the bundle deals to help shoppers buy more for less, such as receiving an additional 5% when they purchase a bundle of 4 (four) Maggi packs, or 3 (three) boxes of Koko Krunch cereal. To ease delivery costs during this period, on 27 March and 4 April, Shopee will be providing free shipping with minimum spend of RM8 from 12am to 2am, and RM16 for the rest of the day.
In the interest of safety and smooth deliveries, the online shopping platform is working very closely with its logistics partner, Pos Laju to take precautionary measures including disinfection of warehouse and vehicles, and parcel sanitisation while temperature checks are conducted for workers, drivers and riders.

The promotions on S-Mart Sabah is part of Shopee’s special Shop Safely From Home campaign from now until 4 April for users to purchase their necessities at one place without breaking the bank. Additionally, on 27 March and 4 April, the platform is offering deals starting at RM0.44 and discounts up to 80% as well as exciting Shopee games including Shopee Flip & Match, Shopee Lucky Bag, Shopee Throw and One or Not.
