[Marathon] Sundown Marathon Singapore 2014 (Part 1)

I think I better start somewhere before I procrastinate.  Blog it when it's fresh (in this case not so fresh cause I'm still down with the combo sickness and on meds, so I'm quite distracted.  Gonna try to go with it as I type).

Photos are taken with Sony Xperia Z2 (I'll slot in some reviews about the phone).  I brought along my point and shoot camera but did not use it at all! RAWR! Some are from Rizwan and Pammie (Iphone users).

Day 1 - Arriving Singapore!

I had an early brunch, flight at 2pm but I was hungry.  So I had custard smiley donuts from Dunkin Donuts!  2 of it!  Initially I wanted just 1 but you're not allowed to buy just 1, so got 2 and ate both dammit.

[Activities] Coral Flyer Zipline - The Worlds Longest Island to Island Zipline

Ever since I saw Jaco's post about Kota Kinabalu Coral Flyer between island on G+, I have been wanting to go.  It was open for public on 10th May 2014.  I was ecstatic!  Well, I initially wanted to go try Zip Borneo at Kiulu but no friends to go with.  I have organized misc events for my group of friends but sometimes it's just not gonna happen.  Just like trying out indoor climbing.  Mind you, if you knew me then (when my self confidence is below zero), I'm the type of person who is afraid of heights and it would take me more than 10x the amount of thinking which leads to doubts which in the end I won't do it.  I'm have and still is making changes with my life this year by trying out new things (more like clearing off some bucket list) so totally feeling it!

Thanks to Beverly for "pulling some strings" and arrange for everyone to go.  Excited and nervous at the same time.  There's over 10 people, 14 to be exact, who's on this trip, including myself.  Excited cause it's my first time ziplining, nervous probably cause I'm always nervous around strangers lol.  But that's just me.  I probably know a handful of people (or not?) who's going.  Slept at almost midnight, set my alarm to 4:30am (I think I got used to waking up at 4am on a Sunday morning, that I automatically woke up at that hour, I think I actually woke up at 3am and tried to sleep back till 5:30am).  Double check some of my stuff and off to Jesselton Point jetty to meet up with everyone.

[Activities] Sabah Indoor Climbing Centre

I can't remember the amount of times Beverly drag me to try indoor climbing.  She wasn't the only one.  It's been years and she never gave up.  I always wanted to go try at least once.  I used to jog at Likas Complex Jogging Track and I WILL pass this area but, one of the reason I didn't do it the last time is cause I was shy.  I mean seriously, I would want to drag some friends with me if I could.  I had some plans to go with some peeps but they couldn't make it and plans always just turns out to be just plans.  I'm also afraid of heights and I overthink to the state of doubting.  This time around, when Bev asked me again, I was determined to go, even if I end up going alone.  Thankfully, my awesome sis tagged along.  Mind you, my sis is quite big in size and I've been trying to make eat healthy and exercise.  I was also doubting her abilities.

Just in case, for those who aren't familiar with the location of this indoor climbing centre.  Here's a map.

[Event + Food] BunyiGuitar x:po @ Sabah Art Gallery + Kung Fu La Mian + Jing-Si Book & Cafe

I'd planned to do an easy run this morning but I got lazy from the lack of sleep.  I also initially planned to go for a swim but I don't want to go alone since I never been to that pool before.  I went to meet up a friend's newborn last nite after my yoga class and got back quite late, lets just say I end up sleeping at 1am again.  Planned to check out a guitar exhibition at Sabah Art Gallery today.  BunyiGitar x:po.

See, whenever I attend an event, I'm usually curious or I wanted to check out something cool to blog about.  I almost don't have anything to blog about, well I do but I prefer not to do backdated post unless people request me to, but I prefer not cause memory tend to fail, I'll end up missing out details hee~ Best to blog when memory still fresh!  Like this post hee~  Check out BunyiGitar x:po event page, here.  In this case, I sort of got attracted with these:

[Running] Borneo International Marathon 2014

Most anticipated race in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah held annually around early May.  Just cause here, in KK, there's not much running events.  I find myself registering whenever registration announced.  This year, I've decided to get back to Full Marathon again.  I've set up for a 6 months runkeeper training program for "Beginner marathon to finish" (just in case you're wondering, here's a link to runkeeper).  Not a beginner but I don't think I can even run 42km for 5 hours, yet.  I haven't stop running since last year's final race which was the BSN Putrajaya Night Marathon which was held around October last year.  I should have blogged about it cause I PB (personal best) my Half Marathon and it was fun!  Like never a dull moment fun!  I'll leave that for another time.

Vague memory is vague, I think I started my actually training program with Pammie and Rizwan in December 2013? Everything was good till I overdid my training (too much hill training or run too fast or running downhill like a madwoman or did not rest enough, either one of these is the culprit) and got injured real bad around end of February.  I didn't know what was going on for a month.  Off running till I feel no pain.  Went to full body massage twice thinking that I might pulled a nerve and tried fixing it, nope, I was still walking funny.  Went to the doctor and was on nerve and painkillers for 3 weeks or so (meds make me wake up cranky and depressed *hates).  Went for physio at Sport Care Plus at Likas twice and went for a 10km test run (easy pace) the next day.  Mind you, I was still sort of working out by walking or hiking (my so called low impact exercise is not low impact at all *chuckled).  I constantly get scolded by close friends for being stubborn.  I think some of my friends know me too well.  But you can't put a leash on a mule (or whatever or however the saying goes lols, I have no idea what I'm trying to relate this sentence to ehehe).  Nope that ain't it either.  I actually couldn't pin-point the source of the pain for so long that finally in the end, a runner friend arranged for an x-ray at the Hospital.  I had my hip, pelvic, groin and spine x-rayed.  Finally, found out the cause of my problem.

[Boardgame] King of Tokyo

Love and hating Blogger app.  I had this drafted via smartphone and it didn't sync with the browser and hang!  RAGE!  Retyping this, OMFG!  And when retyping, everything that's typed is not the same huhu~

Last Friday, I went for boardgame session at Jack's place.  He just got this new boardgame called King of Tokyo.  I went after my Yoga class.  I was slightly hungry.  Thank god I brought along 1.5litre of water with me hee.

What's King of Tokyo?  King of Tokyo is a game from Richard Garfield, designer of Magic: The Gathering and Android: Netrunner.  Basically, it's you (the players) taking roles as monsters, robots or aliens destroying Tokyo!  Minimum 2 player max up to 6 players.  There's only three (3) of us that night.  That works to, test run.  We need to test 6 players one of these days peeps.  Anyone interested to play?

[Event] Eclectic Ecstatic 2 @ El Centro

I usually don't have time for events cause I tend to focus on my running schedule, but since I'm on force rest from running, might as well fill up my time with something interesting.  Everyone needs to chill once awhile no?

[Food] Secret Recipe: Beyond Veggie

I have been wanting to go to Beyond Veggie for awhile, but most of the time I didn't have anyone to come with (yes, eating alone could be lonely sometimes).  This is Secret Recipe take on "eating healthy".  No meat!  Now why can't they have Subway Sandwiches here?  Just saying.

Finally went to have late lunch with Marseh after Thomas Sabo Summer Spring 2014 Collection Event Launch.

There's probably two (2) branch of this franchise which is at Suria Sabah and Metro Town.
Looking at the menu, everything looks interestingly appetizing.  Randomly picked one of the pasta selection.

I had Spaghetti Carbonara which cost around RM16.90.  Need salt but I alternate for pepper.  The tempura mushrooms and veggies tasted nice though.  Or just cause I'm not a big fan of creamy sauce?

In pursuit of happiness

Oh wow, my last post was around end of February.  The same time when I injured my left leg (more like pelvic/hip area), I was on painkillers and joint meds for almost a month and couldn't sleep on my left side.  Somehow, thinking about it, I actually looked funny trying to drag myself off bed or car coz I couldn't lift it.  Even trying to put on pants I would need to hold on the table for support.  I feel so old!

Keep reminding myself that I shouldn't push myself even if I want to.  I could be really stubborn sometimes, I think I'll only stop running if I'm dead.  Haven't had a proper run for almost 2 months is driving me nuts, was alternating with hiking but I recently found out that I shouldn't be doing that either.  Canceled Mt. Kinabalu climb last Friday via feratta.  Gone through a series of ups and downs (more like a pile of frustration) and trying not to occasionally break down from it.

In the process of healing, estimated recovery time is 6 weeks.  Going through physio, slow exercise is so slow.  Took up Yoga and Swimming.  Lost almost 5kg in the process.  Friends are good support system.  Next race pending Borneo International Marathon on 4th May 2014.  Not sure if I'm able to run for this but being hopeful since there's only minor twitching. Probably just do a relax run not with target time.  Looking forward to meet IG and facebook runner friends.

I'm planning ahead for next year's activities!  YOLO!

Classic Mani-Pedi with Massage and Foot Scrub

Last 15th February I bought this Classic Mani-Pedi with Massage and Foot Scrub on Groupon for 2 person (my partner in crime, Marseh).  It seems like a good deal (RM29 per person) and it's near.  Being part of New Year's Resolution for growing my nails, and this is obviously the first time for me.

Called up on Monday to set appointment on Saturday at 1:30pm (I was doubting myself - peak hours?!).

Growing my nails

Now see, I've never had long nails before.  Remember in high school, they make you have a certain length for nails?  I got used to that.  My nails were crooked and square.  Bad! I know.  It runs in the family (not everyone though).

Look just how ugly it was!  I tried making it colorfully cute.

Here's another attempt of painting it lols.

This was last year by the way.

Rozella Music

Good afternoon!

Yesterday, I received a private message from Rozie about her new song.  She's doing an online campaign for her new song Genevieve to raise awareness for onebillionrising.

See, I actually know Rozie from blogging years back but I met her for the first time recently at WebcampKK: New Year's Resolution Edition which was held at  Wisma Bandaraya.  And bought her new EP.

"Rozie!!! I still want an autograph on it!"
Glad I went that day.  Please mind the way I look here.  This is my after work look, so make up confirm melt already.

Rearranging post and labels

As per the above title.

I am gonna go through all my 1029 post that backdated since March of 2006 and list out all the labels I ever use.  Coz I HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD TO DO IT! NYAHAHA!

I'm gonna make this a scheduled post and so, I will have a post each day (not that I'm gonna blog once a day), just saying that there will be incoming traffic coming your way (if, you are following me of course?).  Hmm, I have an idea of blogging about my nails.  Next blog post after this one, more like when I manage to completely arrange my labels from all those posts.  Notice my 11 draft?  Previous post that I lazy to blog about.  Sorry.

Motivation level: 95% (bulihlah ah).

Thought/s:
  1. I wonder if I update the labels of my previous blog posts, will you get the update too?  Sorry if you do.
  2. I will need to filter the blog list since some become dead link.
  3. Need to expand the width for my posts.
  4. I'll use my sharpie!  OMG sharpies are so much fun! (I sound like a crazy person).

Uhhhhh I learn something new! *excited.

Reach page 30 with 3 pages of labels listed.  Dafudge!?!  What was I thinking?

2014 for the change

I initially wanted to start a new blog at weebly coz this blog is so unorganize, like a new start?  But then again, might as well just change the layout and hopefully I don't get so lazy in updating it this time around.  I probably think that I should clean up my room a bit and donate some of my clothes?  Just a thought though.  This is not a sudden change, I already planned to do it just that I tend to procrastinate and everything gets dragged till when I actually have time (plenty) to sit down in front of the computer and do it.

I hope I still have readers, hee.

Neways, why did I made a collage of my running photos as a banner?  Simply, coz I love doing it.  Been doing it since 2009 or earlier than that and I actually joined the 7k Sutera Harbour Sunset Charity Run in 2010 with my brother and the rest is of the first row photos are from the following year till 2013 (I'll change it when I join this year's charity run), hence the first photo.  Everything else is self explanatory (I made a lot of running friends throughout the years).  I'm still not a good writer/blogger but I try my best to make it as clear and as interesting as possible.

I'm still trying to remove those Ads from my blog, wanted a clean look.  Oh my coding skills are rusted.  I still find Photoshop CS2 is so simple in comparison with CS6.  Oh my headache.

I'll also try to blog about my running experience and share whatever related to running and of course food/travel posts.  Hee~

Till then,  thanks for reading.

Reviving the blog..hopefully

In the lines of the above mentioned title.  I am planning to hopefully, have some time and be a bit less lazy about blogging about my runs.  I had a write up about BSN Putrajaya Night Marathon 2013 but I have yet to complete it.  I admit! I've been lazy (I'm blaming the slow P1 connection at home).  I have better streamyx connection at work (when in a good mood).

I also have a line up of scheduled future races/activities that I will be joining/plan to join for next year.

CSPian Year End Trip 2012 - Nagapuri (Part 2)

I'm so delaying this post.

29th Dec 2012 - Saturday - Day 2

Went for walks along the beach.  Daniel has been attracting sandflies.  It was me, Kuya, Ihsan and Daniel walking.  Rendy meet us halfway.  Took photos, like a bunch of em.  I think we walk for almost 2km, not too sure about the distance cause I forgot to track it.

CSPian Year End Trip 2012 - Nagapuri (Part 1)

I have been waiting for this trip like forever.  There's a lot of stuff been going on throughout last year and Nagapuri is the best place to relax.  I went to this place last year but I did not blog about it cause of the overwhelming number of photos taken during that trip that I sort of wasn't in the mood to write anything about it.  I think we had around 12 people for last year's trip.  There were new faces for this trip but the number had been reduced to 8 cause some had to work.  5 cars for carpool reduced to 3.  It's ok.

We had 2 days and a night's trip last year and we increased the number of nights there this time cause it was that much fun.  I think some of us were in the state of not wanting to go home.

Lets begin.

So I thought combining 3 days post might be a wee-bit too long, so I'm gonna make 2 parts.  And this is part 1.

28th Dec 2012 - Friday - Day 1

The girls carpooling again.  Kuya is driving again.  Sleep deprived Kuya and Massy.  I think I was overexcited? Maybe, I'm not sure what was my reason but I probably had around 2-4 hours of sleep (vague memory is vague, I think I was compiling the playlist, yes I compile songs for roadtrips lol but not everyone likes my taste in music but I'd like to think that I have good taste in music? yes? I only manage to compile up to 40 songs for this trip cause my dad changed my line to P1 and I totally killed it by downloading Borderlands2 *uhuk~ shhh~ one must not tell) or more, I can't remember.  Pick up time at 7am.  I'm already up at 4:30am and get ready, double check my clothes and everything is packed.  I initially thought Kuya gonna pick Jna up first since my house is the furthest but somehow that plan changed, lucky I got ready early hehe.

[Running] 5D4N Penang + Penang Bridge International Marathon 2012 (Part 2)

Brace yourself!  Yet another long post, okay kidding, this post is slightly shorter than the 1st part hehe.

Just in case those did not read the Part 1 for my Penang trip, go here!

19th Nov 2012 - Monday - Day 4

Woke up at 6am.  Went for breakfast at Fook Cheow Cafe, which is the same place where we had our breakfast the other day.  Wanted to eat Kon Lou Mien but decided to try everything else.

[Running] 5D4N Penang + Penang Bridge International Marathon 2012 (Part 1)

*takes a deep breath.  This is so gonna be a long post.

Photos taken with Sammy (my new Samsung Galaxy S3) eventhough I brought along my digital camera.  I didn't get to use that lol! WHY? I don't even know.

I don't even know where to start.

But, I'm gonna say that Penang trip is not cheap!

My 2nd attempt at Full Marathon.  Penang was a bad idea.  Bridge all the way!  *yayface.jpg.

[Boardgame] A Touch of Evil Boardgame

A continuation from 2nd Boardgame Day at Just Wargame.  Only this is about a different game.  A Touch of Evil boardgame by Flying Frog.

So I thought I should finish this up before start with my Penang Bridge International Marathon (PBIM) 2012 post, which will be next.  Yes I know some of you guys are anxious to know what happened before, during and after the race right?

My friend, Blek, owns this boardgame.  He have bought the expansions "Something Wicked" and "The Coast" plus (+) 2 of the hero packs (Hero Pack 1 and Hero Pack 2).

Hana Japanese Restaurant

I'm actually testing the blogger application on android.  While watching episode 2 of Last Resort.
Went for 20km run with Daniel and Rizwan in the morning.  It was raining in the morning since 2:30am, so I thought we might just cancel it but if that were to happen, I'll have 3 missed runs last week, instead, waited for the rain to stop at slightly before 5am.

Slow and easy run, manage to complete it in 2 hours 30 mins while Rizwan went and complete his first 21km below 3 hours, congratulation!

Mount Kinabalu Climb 2012

Super long post.

I have always wanted to do this at least once in my life.  But I always postponed it cause I'm afraid of heights.  Like the thought of climbing/hiking/looking down at high places sends me to a weird place.  I'm scared of falling.  I don't trust anything and everything.  Had an early planned one this year, and got myself the courage to do it!  Finally!  Actually the motivation came when this friend of mine, Blek said he's joining.  HAHAHHAHA it's like if he can do it, I can, but in the end he cancelled to join International Climbathon on 13th October.  I think this plan didn't go as smooth also cause misunderstanding got me cancelled once and I got back in.  I have this 6 months training schedule for my November Penang marathon and manage to slot in some mebbe I don't know 3 times hiking before the actual climb date which was on 2nd till 4th October? I'll get to that soonish.  So I guess, u can say I'm pretty much prepared, not well prepared but prepared enough to do it.

Had some last minute shopping, yeah I guess the thought of it still freaks me out a bit but whatever I was feeling then, I'm just gonna do it no matter what.

Got my gears ready and here we go.

Day 1 - 2nd Oct 2012

Meet up point at Sacret Heart, 2pm.  Arrived early, thought I might be the earliest one there but I was wrong.  Pjal and Rendy beat me to it! Oh darn it!

Hello blog world

It's been awhile since my last update.  Yeah like last July?  I actually wanted to blog about a bunch of stuff but I'm either too busy or too tired or too lazy to do so.  So I guess, maybe, just maybe I should like blog about my last trip? Or maybe about that boardgame that I got for my birthday (in August)?  Hmm..contemplating.
For the meantime, I guess I'm just gonna drop and say Hi :)
Who is going for Penang Bridge International Marathon? I see you there!

Gears of War boardgame + Steam Summer Sale!

I'm gonna start with talking about how my day went on Sunday then about the games I recently bought from the sale and go on to the boardgame okay.

So last Sunday, after a 6 days force rest due to infection on my blister, which, btw is fine now, well in a way of putting it cause I end up cutting off the skin and manage to remove that layering dead skin cells that I had before, felt so good mang,  I don't have a bump on my foot anymore, but everytime stepping on a tiled floor felt like stepping on cold water, I finally went out for run.  Dan, who totally forgot that I was on force rest ask me what time we're starting our 21km run on Sunday.  HOI! Neways, suggested we do an easy 10km instead.  I woke up as early as 3:30am, had a good night sleep perhaps from sleeping at 9:30pm (actually slept so early cause I did an hour on the stationary bike, got so tired), stomach aching from period pain and diarrhea, good lord, got ready and off I go after 5am.

7k Sutera Harbour Sunset Charity Run

I've been contemplating to blog about my KL trip.  It was fun and not so fun for me to the extent that I did not wanna talk about it.  On another note...

It's my 3rd time joining the 7k Sutera Harbour Sunset Charity Run.  No difference between the previous years, t-shirt + registration fee of RM28 (Increased by RM3 I think).  It rained at 3:30pm, do not care, I still just gonna run.  I brought along my camera this time around, thinking that I could catch some familiar faces for some photo.  But I manage to crosspath with some and did not take photo with.  I am sad.  I though, manage to take photo with the bunch that started with me.

17th June 2012

I can't think of a proper title.

My day started pretty fine.  Set alarm at 3am.  End up waking up at 3:30am cause meeting up with Daniel for Sunday morning 15km run at 5:15am.  So, I pretty much planned my morning.  Showered, had 2 banana, I even had time to check social sites in the morning.  Kill loads of time.

My run was pretty okay but I'm frustrated that I couldn't finish it at one go.  Manage to run 12.34km today with additional 2km to finish.  Oh my right foot, why you so painful?  Got something to do with the monthly "aunty visit" is making my back pain.  Actually, I feel sore waist down.  Initially I thought it might have something to do with my last Tuesday 10km attempt.  Broke my record for 10km in almost 59 mins woot?  Yes, achievement unlocked, so proud of myself.

Look at the condition of my current shoe.  After 6 months, yes, I use 1 shoe for training and race.

Super Dungeon Explore Boardgame

Gee, where do I start?  Now before I get to talking about this boardgame, I was gonna blog about the food I had this whole week.  But then again, I'll probably gonna reserve that and blog about it like after this or next time, depending on if I'm lazy or not.

But I will definitely start with how my day went and talk about the boardgame as we go.

Ahhh the usual Sunday morning run.  Slept early as usual the night before, I think I slept around 10pm, set alarm for 3am cause I thought I might need to eat something, I do not like to be late.  What bums me, I wake every hour like seriously, it's not that I couldn't sleep, it's just that everytime I wake up, I thought I had like at least 3 - 4 hours of sleep, I guess that did not happen.  I know this cause I check my phone/watch the moment I wake up, maybe I should keep track of my sleeping hours again with that phone app called SleepBot.  Seems to work the last time but I think I stop using it cause I got lazy of pressing it everytime I go to sleep or wake up.  Hehe.

This was around before 6am.  Dark clouds everywhere

It's raining

[Boardgame] Mage Knight Boardgame

So, last 18th April 2012, my friend, Daniel has been talking about this boardgame, it was released around end of April and he finally received it on 8th May 2012.  Right after BIM.  Talking about good timing huh?  Scheduled to play the game on a Sunday which happened yesterday.  But before that, here's a link if you're wondering about this game, here.

An introduction to Mage Knight:
The Mage Knight board game puts you in control of one of four powerful Mage Knights as you explore (and conquer) a corner of the Mage Knight universe under the control of the Atlantean Empire. Build your army, fill your deck with powerful spells and actions, explore caves and dungeons, and eventually conquer powerful cities controlled by this once-great faction! In competitive scenarios, opposing players may be powerful allies, but only one will be able to claim the land as their own. In coöperative scenarios, the players win or lose as a group. Solo rules are also included.
Combining elements of RPGs, deckbuilding, and traditional board games the Mage Knight board game captures the rich history of the Mage Knight universe in a self-contained gaming experience.

A Touch of Evil: Something Wicked Boardgame

I think I better do this and get it over with.  And since that I'm in that state where I'm completely and utterly annoyed at this hour (I revisited some thoughts and I'm at a unhappy place, this is a good distraction), might as well blog about this or it won't happen.

This will be the third (3rd) time I'll be blogging about this boardgame.  The difference is, this is an expansion.  Not a completely different boardgame but the map is connected to the previous one.  I firstly gotta thank Ripz/Blek for letting us play after BIM.  Yeah I sort of threatened him to let us play.  My bad.  I didn't wanna spend my whole day resting, I'm naturally stubborn.  Thank you.

But before we get to the boardgame part, I just gotta say, I just finish watching Battleship, I love it! :)  Especially the part where they use that old ship.  Okay, enough spoilers.  Lets get to it.

More info. about this boardgame at BoardGameGeek.

Unboxing.

Borneo International Marathon 2012 - My First Marathon Experience

The Full Marathon table.  So empty.

Collected my race pack with Daniel on 3rd May at Suria Sabah Shopping Mall.  I do not like this number.  I'm very particular with my BIB No.  Yay for freebies though.  Oh yeah, S size shirt is big!  I look like I'm wearing a rugby shirt.

I bought these.

Full Marathon race route.

Cut story short.

Sew the shoulder part of this vest.

To make it look smaller somehow.

Race starts at 3am.  I had slept at 5pm the day before and was having trouble sleeping, I keep waking up for many different reasons.  Alarm set for 10pm and I'm up.  Had banana for breakfast and was out around 12:45am.  Initially I planned to leave around 12 midnight but someone told me that's too early.  It rained.  Oh gawd so cold.  I was contemplating whether I should try the calf guard or not, end up not having em cause I having train in em yet.

I though arrived at Stadium around 1am and waited for maybe half an hour okay fine, I waited in the car for roughly 45 mins before I finally got into the stadium compound cause I wanted to go to the loo.  Oh, on another note, I parked my car nearer to the entrance this time after what happened last year when I parked my car near the gate.

Meet up with Daniel after done with my "business" and he check-in his baggage.  Met Marjie and KD.  Warm up with Daniel around the track and waited till 3am.  I was a bit surprised with the number of people taking part in the Full Marathon category.  I think I got so nervous that I went to the toilet few times before the race starts lol.  There aren't a lot of people.  Say like probably around 200 more or less in total?  And most that I saw were elite runners.  Met quite a number of people that I know from the jogging track and Sunday runs.

Oh lord.  Kanchiong.  And when it was nearing 3am, mind you I was sort of trying to fix my running shorts when they announce start.  Wait, where is the gun shot/initiate.  I think both me and Daniel were a bit confused with that part.  Off we go!

Oh yeah, there were I think two (2) sub 530 pacer and one (1) sub 4 pacer.  Recognize them with the balloon (this reminds me of Penang).  We started from the stadium heading towards KK passed Jesselton Point head towards Tg. Aru roundabout and make a turn there.  Water station at every 3km but I didn't see toilet though.  Where was it?  Along the road, got supporters, ambulance and police ready.  Best cheer is along Warisan Square.  I swear they were the loudest till I ran faster lol.  But somehow volunteers this year look less than last year.  Paced with Daniel with a comfortable pace below 7 mins for 10km, note to self, stick to water instead of 100 plus at the beginning.  I think he keeps checking on me ask if I was doing the right pace cause felt like I was running faster, but actually it felt easy.  Crosspath with some familiar faces and said hi.  Slight feel of fame cause I know so many people lol.  Lotsa support from runners I don't know.  Super fun!

I'm starting to lose sight of Daniel when I slowed down at the water station and went on my own till 14km.  That's when everything starts to get screwy.  I started feeling a bit gassy.  Tried to burp it all out but somehow it gave me stitch.  So, I tried to shake it off by walking a bit and it felt better except my legs suddenly felt heavy.  Oh lord, WHY?  Tried to keep running, I think I end up run walk run walk till I crosspath with the sub 530 pacer and I went with my target speed again which is below 7 mins.  Till I passed Jesselton Point roundabout where I stopped and walk again.  Crosspath with the group again and started pacing with them at 8 mins pace.  Motivating pacer, he was so loud and it was fun.  Gave me some advice and said I shouldn't worry about my pace and just have fun.  Actually when I was pacing with them, my right foot were in so much pain already.  Managed to push through till 22km till I fall off behind again and start to run walk again.

Ran alone, this is when I crosspath with tons of my friends who's doing Half Marathon.  Keep pushing, my pace were everywhere.  Keep psyching myself out.  I keep telling myself that I can do it.  Yeah run run run till I crosspathed with the sub 530 pacer and he was checking on me.  I told him I was too tired, I think that was at 28km and he gave me energy gel Espresso flavor.  I don't take coffee but just chuck it all in.  Heck I just passed a water station so I was having the aftertaste for more km.  But it helped a bit with the energy level cause I was feeling at the state of kapootness.  Passed the 2nd checkpoint and was trying to reach the banana station at 31km I think, nearing university apartment.  Took a banana and chuck that in too, I need water!  Run walk run walk, heck I was calculating my time and thought if I could maintain below 7 mins pace I could reach less than 6 hours.  Did not happen.  Legs were dying.  Everytime I tried to do it, I went too fast and too tired too quickly.  That happened a couple of times.  It was around 8am that time and the sun starts to shine.  Oh so brightly.

After an excruciating 6 hours 6 mins of pain, I finally reached the finish line.  I think there will be some fugleh photos of me walking in pain lol.  First time is the most painful.

Group photo with CSPians :)

Thanks Jna for the photo.  And congrats for completing first 10km in 1 hour 4 mins woot!  Remember my previous blog post about her injuring her knee?   Damn you crazy!  In this photo, of all categories, we all finish our race yay~

Results are out today.  More, click here.

Bad news, my pace "hancur" tahap gaban and did not reach target which is sub 5.  Good news, I've completed my first marathon within the time limit and I'm not the last one to reach the finish line.  Yay~  Thanks Daniel for grabbing me a drink, I think when I reach, my legs were in so much pain I can't stop complaining about it lol.

Head off to McDonalds for McD breakfast.  HAHAHAHAHAHA I think not enough liquid I was chucking the food till palate burn.  My eyes went all teary instantly.  It was Penang all over again lol.  Only that time I actually cried cause I was in so much pain.  Tried to ease up a bit with ice.  Yes, sometimes Massy does the silliest things.  Walked to Warisan Square for ice cream after that.  Surprisingly, no leg pain.  The only pain I'm feeling was coming from my foot.  I think my toes were swollen too.

Planned for a boardgame session the same day around 5pm.  I didn't nap cause I was so hungry that I couldn't stop eating.  I'll blog about the A Touch of Evil boardgame expansion set next post.  Thanks Blek eventhough I had to force him mwahhaha.  Oh god, I'm so evil.

1 Full Marathon medal and 2 Half Marathon from last year

All and all it was a good an fun race.  Well organized but why so little people sign up for it?  At least the finisher shirt I can wear this time.  Not as big as last year's.  Water stations never run out of water, except the banana station, Y U NO energy gel?  And I only spotted 1 toilet after 1 Borneo.  The road starting to get filled with cars nearing 9am.  The last few that haven't arrive lmao.  Good job!

See you again next year.  Not sure if I'm gonna do another Full Marathon or Half Marathon.  We'll see.

What's this year's plan?  SCKLM - Half Marathon in June and PBIM - Full Marathon in Nov.  Hopefully I can do better this time around.  Too disappointed with my performance for my first marathon.

Till my next post.  Thank you for reading.

Yes yes, this post is a bit messy cause I'm still tired and a bit lazy.  Oh!  On another note, I think I lost 3kg from that run lol.  Gaining back a bit of the weight and start recovery run tomorrow.

Oh and if you're wondering what happen to my palate, so I woke up this morning and were in so much pain, decided to go to work and thought I could just hold it in, but pain was too great.  End up going to the doctor's for medicine.  Still in pain though.  I need painkillers!

And, remember when I said I feel no pain except on my foot?  Started feeling it last night, I'm blaming the aircond.  Woohoo! Whole body pain.  Especially my shoulders and foot.  Lets do this again, Yay!  I need new running shoe :( no money.

A Touch of Evil boardgame: Advance Mode

Contemplating, I wanted to blog about this but I got this lazy bug keeps getting to me.  Today, am gonna force myself to complete this post somehow, RAWR!

So it was a holiday last Tuesday.  I went for my run in the morning after 4 hours of sleep.  Thank god for auto body clock or I won't be able to wake up for that run at all.  Initially, set the alarm for after 3 hours sleep cause I came back from a party and slept at 1am.  God, I was seriously tired.  Like in the state of sleeping in but I thought to myself, this weekend is the race, I might as well get myself up and do it!  Manage to complete my run faster than I should, couldn't maintain my marathon pace cause I keep going faster lol.  Must maintain that pace, if not I think I'm screwed.  Finish at around nearly 8am, omg so hot!  I felt like roasted chicken.  Went to breakfast at Kedai Kopi Janggut, yummeh fish mee soup.  Went home, omg! I can't remember what I did after that till blackout around noon.  Planned a boardgame session with some friends but the place we wanted to go also no electricity.  And the roads are jammed because of the cycling event, Borneo Tour? Tour Borneo?  Most of the roads are closed and some of the traffic light are out.  Stayed home and napped near the balcony for wind.  Woke up at 2pm and by 3pm went to Kuya's house for boardgame.  Strong wind is strong.
