5:15 or was it 5:20am, I can't see shite capta'n, oh but I see stars! Too bad my phone camera couldn't capture that beautiful sight
This week ran 9.66km. I was suppose to maintain a 6:30-7 mins pace but I got carried away. Reason being, wait, before that, Happy Birthday to Jna, her birthday was yesterday and she ran with me. But, prior reaching 1km after the 2km warm up, she feel and hurt her knee.
Photo taken from her instagram hehe
1 week to go! I'm excited and anxious. Can't wait for this, hopefully my training paid off. Don't screw this up Massy lol!
Went for breakfast at Fook Yuen, Damai after that. Oh lord, crazy hot weather, I swear I was melting. Thank god for Milo Ping.
And this is what I had for breakfast.
Went home and nope, I didn't nap. I went out instead to look for last minute present for Jna hehee. Actually I got it all planned but my plan didn't work so I'm improvising on the gift :)
The initial surprise plan was to ambush her at her house after boardgame session but she had other plans. Plan changed to before boardgame session which is around 2:30pm which is around 1:30pm at her house but guess what? She went out! RAWR! I think we were crazy rushing. But the most epic moment, I was rushing from 1 Borneo to reach the meet up point which is near her house till friend told me she's at 1 Borneo. OMFG! Facepalm moment right there. So, me and 3 other friend carpooled to 1 Borneo. The heat did not help at all. We were sweating from top to bottom but thank god for parking eventhough it's kind of full we manage to get parking. Rushed to Brooklyn (formerly New York New York) to commerce the plan.
Surprise! Not so surprise lmao.
Happy birthday!
Photos from Fara's instagram. Lol! Why does me and Kuya looked conjoined?
Green Tea cake from Uncle Biscuit, Damai
The gift I got for Jna
Meet up with the guys at Huge Cafe. While Daniel reads the manual/rulebook, I have my lunch. I actually had a burger from home but that doesn't seem enough somehow lol. So, ordered Green Tea and Single Chicken Burger.
RM3.30 for Green Tea and RM8.90 for the burger
He also bought the expansion! *scratchhhhhhhhhhhh.
Unwrap! I think I uploaded 16 photos of this boardgame on my instagram. Flooded, sorry. I have more photos though lol!
A Touch of Evil boardgame. More about it via BoardGameGeek. This boardgame comes with a CD soundtrack of the original music.
Playing easy mode cause it's our first time.
No. of players: 2 - 8. Best with 4 players. And we have 4 today. Hehe.
'Tis the dawn of the 19th century; an age of science, superstition, and witchcraft. Howling fills the night as a full moon rises over the small, secluded village of Shadowbrook. Gruesome murders have become a daily occurrence and terror haunts the streets at night. An evil creature has taken up residence here and the countryside is engulfed by a tide of darkness. But all is not lost…not yet.
A small group of heroic individuals, with the courage and strength to fight, have arrived in town. Some just passing through while others have come with a purpose; but all will be put to the test as they race to save this cursed town from falling into darkness. It will take a cunning mind and strength of spirit to determine who is friend and who is foe… to solve the mysteries and hunt the beast to its lair.
But the secrets of Shadowbrook run deep. Gossip and rumors run rampant and these few Heroes may soon discover that they are outsiders here and this town is already so rotten from within there is little left to save.
A Touch of Evil, The Supernatural Game is a fast-paced game of fiendish creatures, dashing Heroes, and high-adventure. Each player takes on the role of a unique monster-hunting Hero, racing against time to stop the forces of darkness from claiming another foothold in the world of man. Only by investigating the town and building your Hero’s strength can you hope to hunt down the Supernatural Villain to his Lair and defeat him in an epic Showdown. Players can race Competitively to be the first to defeat the Villain and save the town, or they can work together Cooperatively to defeat a much stronger Villain.
Featuring a gameboard map of Shadowbrook and its surrounding countryside, eight Heroes to choose from, and four different Supernatural Villains to hunt; each with its own host of unique Minions and powers to drastically change the game. A Touch of Evil is designed to create an adventurous cinematic feel as the story and game unfolds.
So grab up your Wooden Stake, stuff some shot in that Musket, and hold onto your Tri-corn Hat; no one is safe from the creatures of the night and no one can be trusted…for inside everyone lies A Touch of Evil.
A very nice game board, so we thought we could fit all of that in 1 small table. Well, actually no, and yes. No, cause there'd be limited space for the decks, yes, cause we manage to squeeze everyone on 1 small table lol!
The turn tracker. How cute is that?
The hero figures that was on play.
16 d6. 4 for each player. But if roll 1 d6, felt so light. My dice rolling sucks when I have to roll 1 of this.
Lair deck, town item deck, secrets deck, event deck, mystery deck, Abandon Keep deck, Windmill deck, The Manor deck and The Olde Woods deck respectively.
Town Elder. You may reveal the Town Elder secret by paying 2 investigation marker during your turn. Not all Town Elder is good, they might turn on you and form an alliance with the villain.
I'm playing as Inspector Cooke! Benefits of playing him is that you get an extra investigator marker, in other words money! Except when fighting a monster. Oh, I'm a rich bastard!
These are investigator markers.
Would markers, when you take damage.
Shadow track.
At the start of the game.
Here's how we play it.
Game phase.
First player hero's turn. Roll a d6 for movement, fight enemy on your space (if there is any), take action.
Actions:
- Encounter the space (Mandatory, Limit Once).
- Try to collect Investigation on the board (Limit Once).
- Heal a wound (Cost: 3 Investigation).
- Look at Town Elder's Secret (Cost: 2 Investigation).
- Buy a Lair Card (Cost: Listed on the Shadow Track).
- Start a Showdown (Listed on your Lair Card (Instead of Encountering the Space).
Once the cycle is complete, the First player must enter a Mystery Phase by drawing a Mystery card and the First Player marker passes to the player on the left.
Vampire Minions Chart. You may encounter one of these minions during your game turn. Or when you're at certain places. You may purchase Town Item at the Blacksmith. Add bonus to your combat/cunning/spirit/honor. Good to fight the villian.
Revealed vampire at the lair, which is the Church. A player must travel there to start the showdown. Make sure you're well equip.
In the end, we all survived. Thanks Yack Yack for giving me Musket. Add +2 to my combat yay~
Showdown with the Vampire!
Not bad inspector, not bad.
More photos from BoardGameGeek, here.
I hope I explain it correctly lol. We'll try to play Advance mode next time :)
Went to Jna's house for dinner around before 8pm, just finish the game.
Remember this bubble gum?
Till next post :) Tomorrow holiday yay~
Somehow, that picture reminds me of Christmas. Ada satu bintang. Hehehehe
ReplyDeleteWow, that bubblegum. Aren't they of black and white colors?? Reminds me so much of my childhood days! :D
Last Sunday banyak bintang di langit oh.
DeleteBtw yes, the bubblegum is black and white colors, tapi I remember it to be like the wrapper, not line pindik di tengah tengah punya.
