[Events] Foot Reflexology In The Dark by Sabah Society for the Blind at Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu


Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu will be showing its commitment and support for a green sustainable future for the 8th consecutive year by switching off non-essential lights on Saturday, 30th March 2019 - joining millions of others worldwide in recognition of the 2019 Earth Hour Campaign, which was initiated by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) in support of actions on global climate change.



Besides organizing various Earth Hour Activities, Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu is collaborating with Sabah Society for the Blind is bringing "Foot Reflexology In The Dark"- a great way to relax and unwind while supporting two great cause:-
  • Embrace Calmness in the Dark while Lighting Hope especially for friends from Sabah Society for the Blind by supporting their Foot Reflexology Service at RM30 for 30 minutes which will be on Saturday, 30th March 2019 from 10am to 10pm at Bougainvilla 1, and;
  •  Support Actions on Global Climate Change.
 ** Venue and meals for masseurs are sponsored by Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu while members of Sabah Society for the Blind earn 100% from their Foot Reflexology services.  

**  Sabah Society for the Blind is established to help those with little or no sight to optimize their opportunities by providing specialist staff, information and technology resources to meet individual needs. 

Come this Saturday, 30th March 2019, both lobbies at Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu and Promenade Hotel Bintulu will be dotted with candles forming a "60+"shape.  Guests, patrons and visitors are encouraged to take part with lighting the candles during the lights off period from 8:30pm to 9:30pm (local time).  During the same hour, guests/partrons/visitors gets to join the "Share Your 60 mins Promenade Moment in the Dark" Facebook Contest by uploading their photo/s on their Facebook and tagging Promenade Hotels & Resort Official Facebook account with hashtags - #connect2earth and #mypromenademomentinthedark.

Other great offers not to be missed during the lights off period at Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu are:-
  • FREE Green Tea Latte (redeemable with F&B receipt of the day at the Lobby Lounge).

In the hotel's Earth Hour Campaign message to hotel guests, the General Manager of Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu, Mr. Hafizan Wong encouraged all to commit to action that go beyond the hour by taking part in several related activities to promote energy conservation and help reduce the effects of global warming.  Such activities include taking a reusable bag for shopping; getting friends to take part in Earth Hour; plant a tree or simply turn off the lights in empty rooms as sharing responsibility holds the key to fighting climate change.

Wong also quoted as saying that it is the Hotel's aspiration to be able to assist in increasing awareness on the various services and products available to blind and vision impaired people through Sabah Society for the Blind.  Hence, encouraged all to support the upcoming Foot Reflexology in the Dark.


These were highlighted during the brief press conference at the hotel's Dynasty Chinese Restaurant, which was also attended by President of Sabah Society for the Blind - Datuk Rosalind Chew and Vice President - Ms. Phang Joo See.  All who attended were treated to Dynasty Chinese Restaurant's latest Signature Dishes namely Deep Fried Eggplants with Red & Green Capsicums and "Kim Xiang"Sauce, Chef's Signature Bean Curd, Stir-fried Sea Prawns with Salted Egg Cream Sauce, Hunan Style Chicken served with Steamed Chinese Buns and Deep Fried Sweet & Sour Beef.













The new menu was awesome.  Flavorful and has nice texture.  LOVE IT!
