[Food] New Creative Culinary Experience at Favola, Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu Introduces New Ala Carte Menu

Had the opportunity to try Favola at Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu's new ala carte menu curated by local talent, Executive Sous Chef Gary Ekar and his team last week before my trip.
"Being a chef, perfection means to master our crafts".


"This menu was crafted through my experience in France; while attending the one star Michelin level Ecole Gastronomicom in Le Cap d'Agde and when I did my apprentice in a 2 Michelin star Restaurant Alexandre in Nimes" explained Chef Gary.



"I was also inspired to combine the elements of sensory taste, sight, sound, touch and smell using fresh produce and ingredients from the destination and to create great masterpieces.  Guests will also enjoy a unique and engaging service experience complemented by our passionate team", he added.

The Sabah Bakery and Hospitality Exhibition (SBAHE), the first bakery and hospitality exhibition held in East Malaysia.  This expo is organized by Sabah Confectionery and Bakery Association (SCABA) which happened last weekend, the 22nd to the 24th November 2019 at first floor, ITCC Exhibition Hall at ITCC Shopping Mall, Penampang from 10am to 8pm (the advert says 10pm though).

Potatoes USA presents "An Evening with Chef Emmanuel Stroobant and U.S. Potatoes", an exclusive cooking demo session by the celebrity 2-star Michelin chef at The Pavilion, Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort yesterday evening.  We had an enjoyable session watching the chef in action and trying out his scrumptious U.S. Potatoes dishes, also get to go home with the recipes.  Cooking looks easy when you get to see live demo.  All four dishes are with U.S Potatoes as their main ingredient..

Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu launches a new food experience at Azure Pool Bar and Cafe with a delicious Asean Street food concept.


According to General Manager Kanit Sangmookda, this was inspired by the name of the venue itself, "Azure", which sounded similar to Asia.  "Asia are known for their street food - Bangkok, Taiwan, South Korea and even in Malaysia.  We want to share this not only with our hotel guests but to our local community as well, that they can now enjoy their favorite snacks right here at Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu", he added.

MILO Malaysia Breakfast Day 2019 returns for the 7th year!  2nd year for me.  One of the most anticipated event of the year for me coz of the fun games and goodies.  The one in Sabah seems to run around August.  Next one will be in Kuching, Sarawak on the 25th August 2019.  Estimated 5000 participants this year which was held on 4th August 2019 at Padang Merdeka Kota Kinabalu.  It's a short 3km run and everyone can join in.  Fun run, non competitive, but I still see people running at 3 or 4 mins pace per km 😂


I arrived early and got in line slightly later to take photos, also said hi to Cassie from afar, am surprised she noticed me from the crowd and said "Hi Mas", pemes sis sekejap.

Nature Inspiration Art Gallery (NIAG) has been selected as Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu's partner for its Unlock Art programme to unlock the rich traditions, inspirations and diverse culture found in Sabah.

Delighting Fries Lovers as F&B outlets serves up tasty U.S Fries recipes.


Potatoes USA kicks off its U.S. Fries Fiesta campaign in Kota Kinabalu till 15 July 2019.

According to Potatoes USA’s country rep, Eddie Saw, “We are bringing the U.S. Fries Fiesta for the first time to Kota Kinabalu this year as there are many creative and fantastic chefs there that have managed to combine the quality imported products like U.S. fries together with the wide range of local ingredients from Sabah to produce exciting dishes for the locals and tourists.   

“A promotion such as this will help to bring out another side to the culinary range that Kota Kinabalu has to offer.  We’d like to highlight to the growing pool of food enthusiasts in East and West Malaysia, especially lovers of fries, that there are great food & beverage outlets that they should try,” said Eddie.    

Altogether, 9 outlets are participating in the U.S Fries Fiesta campaign, all serving up unique and tantalizing dishes using U.S. fries varieties.

Arguably an unprecedented campaign dedicated to fries, the campaign is two-pronged in objectives.
